Consumption of planned independent requirements

Hello All.

I would like to take this opurtunity to congratualte every one for
this network. In my point of view is it a good idea.

I have one question that I would like to share with you and at same
time have your comments and input on it.

We have define some Planend independent requirements for a material by
SKU with a certain category. Then We have created a purchase order that is Plant to plant with another category.

After MRP has run it generates a planned order that I will convert
into production order and then I will produce this production order.
then my question is how do I setup the system in order my planned
independent requirements are consumed by this purchase order that is
planto to plant?

Thanks in advance for you coments.

Best Regards
Manuel

Hello Manuel,

I fully agree, setting up this network is certainly a great idea.

I hope that we will be become a very active group!

Regarding your question:
Am I got you right that your purchase order "plant to plant" is actually a stock transport order (STO: order type UB, item category U)?

If yes, your findings are just according to system design as STO does not consume any forecast to my understanding!

Demand at the issuing plant because of the STO depends on the actual demand at the receiving plant leading to this STO. Therefore, it is not independent and consequently does not consume PIR (=Planned INDEPENDENT requirement) at the receiving plant. The PIR should be at the receiving plant.

At least this is my understanding and has been confirmed throughout various sessions. In fact, I had similar discussions with our business although our process is slightly different.

Kind regards,
Klaus Leisgang

Hello Manuel,

The industry solution for AFS supports only planning with final assembly (Strategy 40).
PIRs with this strategy can be consumed only by sales requirements & not STOs.
My understanding of the system - STOs can't consume PIRs in an AFS environment.

Karthik

Hello Manuel,

Thank you for initiating discussion in this group.

Your question - How can system be set up so that PIR are consumed by STO in AFS ?

This is possible in standard but not in the current AFS design.

Standard uses following options to achieve the same.

1. The Consumption Indicator needs to be set to "3" in the planned independent requirements. (T459C-VERVP)
2. The Mixed MRP Indicator must be set to "1" in the material master at the supplying plant. (MARC-MISKZ)

This functionality can be only be achieved with custom development in AFS.

Hello Manuel,

It is possible with a small development (modification). About 5 MD
with documentation and test.
AFS only supports strategy 40 as there were no other requirement input
during development.

Some other customers had demand for strategy 70 (planning on component
level) which is a more complex scenario.
It can be done and if SAP Labs India agrees, we can put that into one
of the next realeases.
